Peeled is a funny Ya mystery. It starts when Hildy, school
newspaper reporter, decides it is HER job to uncover the creepy things
happening at a near haunted house in her town, Banesville which is
famous for apples. Not only that but Hildy is also out to prove she is
just as good a journalist as her father, who died. Eventually, the
culprits are unearthed and-yes- Hildy and her friends save the day. It
involves a nasty news editor, and undercover paper, and lots of apples.
Even during the spookiness, it is funny and cute.
I would recommend
this book to 7th and 8th graders because it is quick and easy to read
plus a mystery. Sort of like a grown up Nancy Drew. 4/5 stars
